Cruel Seas: River-class Frigate
This set contains:
- x1 River Class Frigate model.
- x1 Royal Navy Flag sheet and x1 Huge wake card.
Joining the 1/350 line of ‘big ships’ for Cruel Seas is the new River-class frigate. Perfect for those Royal Navy players who enjoy expanding their games into the realm of the really large (at least by the standards of Cruel Seas’ usual fare!), as well as painters and modellers looking for a great opportunity to flex their hobby muscles. Perfect for escorting convoys and hunting U-Boats alike, our River-class model represents HMS Swale, but could just as easily stand in for the rest of the (very large) class, presenting a great conversion opportunity – the devil (and the fun) is in the little details, after all!
Armed with a fearsome array of 4” and 20mm guns, as well as depth charges and the Hedgehog anti-submarine mortar for dealing with those pesky U-Boats, she’s the perfect centrepiece for a big game – all your opponents are certain to want to try and take her on – as well as a fantastic model kit in her own right. With so many ships of the class in service, there’s no Royal Navy player that can’t use a River-class… or two! If you fancy recreating some classic literature, why not paint her up as the fictional HMS Saltash (or Saltash Castle for film buffs!) from Nicholas Monsarrat’s The Cruel Sea? I wonder why that title sounds familiar…
